I really like the texture and consistency of this tallow balm — it feels rich with a mild greasiness, without leaving a synthetic or sticky film. In my photos, I applied a thick layer just to show the texture, but normally I spread it thinly and it absorbs beautifully. The subtle, natural scent is pleasant but not overpowering. Nice thick and softening tallow balm, but the jar was already kind of small and it was only half full. It's almost like it was whipped and then deflated, or something. What I received is really nice, but there was just so little of it.

I followed a link on X posted by Dr. Mary Bowden for this tallow balm. It is wonderful stuff. Just a tiny bit covers my hands and arms up to elbows. I play organ for church and have never found any type of hand cream that didn’t interfere with playing, but this cream was no problem at all. I have always suffered with dry and cracked skin on my hands in the wintertime. I’m not very well experienced with tallow. I got this on a whim and thought I’d try it. First off, it does smell very nice if you like that minty type of smell. According to the label it’s all natural ingredients and I like the thought of that. It is pretty thick and hard but it breaks up and smooths out nicely. I use it on my cracked hands and it seems to alleviate the rough and scratchiness of my skin. This also works great on my bald head and forehead which tend to be dry. My only complaint and why I docked it a star is because it is VERY greasy. It leaves my skin greasy and shiny after use for a while. I still like it and use it daily and I recommend it, just don’t go touching things right after applying it unless you want grease marks on stuff.

This is my first time trying a Tallow Balm. The balm is packed with rich ingredients like beef tallow, olive oil, almond oil, and essential oils. The fact that it's made in America adds to its appeal. The balm is highly concentrated, and its texture reminds me of a solid Vaseline (petroleum jelly). The application is pleasant, and I didn't notice any dominant scent, which is a big plus. I tried searching the product details and even online to find out if the product is non-comedogenic (pore-clogging), but couldn't find any specific information. However, I did find that tallow balm is generally considered comedogenic and therefore not suitable for skin prone to breakouts or acne. This is very important information to know. For my skin, the balm was indeed rich and moisturizing, but it did not absorb fully, leaving my skin feeling oily. Because of this, I can only use it at night and only on extremely dry areas. I applied a bit to my lips, and I assume that when winter is in full force, it may prove even more effective. The price is not on the cheap side, but a small amount goes a long way, meaning the jar should last for many months of use

Whether it's flaky elbows, knees, face, or beard, this great tallow balm has me covered with a very neutral (not like steak!) aroma and deep moisturization. A little goes a long way! PROS: + Intense Soother: This so far has been my winter and fall go-to when I'm feeling windburned, chapped, crusty, flaky, and more. I use about a pea sized amount for both elbows or knees, or about a smaller dollop for feet (Pro Tip: wear socks, or you might slip on flooring). The formula is gentle when used in just the right amount and a little goes quite the long way. I tiny blot is also perfect for my windburned cheeks and lips; a use about a pinch for my beard. + Beard of Kings: This tallow balm works harder than my usual beard oil and salve to soothe my crispy whiskers. The formula absorbs well into my 2+ inch beard fuzz without feeling heavy, grubby, or gunky. I warm a bit of salve between my hands and pat on before lightly rubbing in. The tallow soaks in well and brings out the color of my beard; I feel the natural reds of my fuzz being more visible. This stuff also banishes beard-dandruff like none other! + Neutral Scent: I've tried tallow balms that smell like a big hunk of streak, and this one isn't one of those. The scent is very buttery neutral and does not smell greasy nor stale. It is very fresh from the jar which seals remarkably wellto keep fresh; it's perfect to be paired with colognes since it does not impart a smell of its own. CONS: - A Little Goes A Long Way: Not much of a con but a warning. This is tallow, pure and simple with no funky filler ingredients. It is of a high quality and will feel very thick and buttery, hence a little is needed per area compared to lotions or standard balms. When I blot just a pinch on my face, I'm feeling swell, but too much and I can get a little oily and develop a pimple or two. Go easy, folks!

I have never heard of this brand but saw it when I was looking for face moisturizer. What caught my eye was the ingredient list: I have never seen a moisturizer with this short ingredient list, just 7 items and I can pronounce all the ingredients. I had to get it. I like the smell, it's very subtle which is good for a man :) and it goes not not greasy at all. It's not greasy and feels light despite thinking beef tallow would be heavy. I like it so far. I only wish this had spf protection which would make this five star but then I guess you would have to add more ingredients

Thanks for reading my review! I wasn't sure what to expect with slapping tallow on my face; as a guy, my skin tends to be a combination of oil in certain areas and dry as a desert in others. So far, applying this in the dry zones has made my skin more even overall. I like that it hydrates those zones without causing redness or itchiness or any of that. Honestly, it seems like the compnay is doing a great job at offering a product that is free from contaminants and that's the success of genuine, natural ingredients.

This is my first time using beef tallow moisturizer, and it seems good. It is a balm, like beard balm, or balm I use for my puppy's paws. It's soft, so it's easy to grab a little bit to spread on my face. I like the slight scent it has, and it smells like tea tree, but I think it's just the peppermint. The balm spreads easily and doesn't leave my skin greasy. A little goes a long way, but it is a small amount at under 2 oz. I normally have dry skin, so this adds some moisture. It's oil-based, but doesn't feel oily. I like it better than a cream-based moisturizer.

This is a nice peppermint scented tallow balm. This is a 1.69 oz jar based on the label on the balm but the listing bullet points say this is a 2 Oz jar. The tallow balm is made in the USA. This balm from COW GUYS has a slight yellow tint. It smooths onto my skin easily and is quickly absorbed. My skin feels soft. This feels effective at moisturizing my face. I appreciate the natural ingredients that the manufacturer has used. The ingredients are : Beef tallow, olive oil, sweet almond oil, essential oil blend: lavender, eucalyptus, peppermint. The jar is elegant looking. I think this would be a great item to add to a luxury gift basket or for personal use as a natural quality moisturizer.

If you want something which is non-greasy, you will not want this. It's not VERY greasy, because they aren't kidding when they say a little goes a long way, but you will still notice it on your skin until it has time to sink in -- the only ingredients are tallow, skin-friendly oils, and some light essential oils for scent. It's unobtrusive and fairly neutral, and while it is heavily moisturizing, it's fairly lightweight as far as oil-based moisturizers go. When I got it, I had to laugh; I've actually made my own balms with almost identical ingredients, since they work so well on the dry patches I get in the winters here. The packaging is simple, it's small enough to put in a purse, and given how long it's going to last, I'd say the price is fair.

Good all natural moisturizer! We picked this up on recommendation. My son was very excited that it didn't have chemicals and preservatives, as he is very concerned about these things as a nutritional specialist. There's really a mild fragrance, similar to a minty scent - probably from the lavender, but it added good moisturizer to lips. It was soothing, especially for dry lips. It made my lips and skin feel very soft. The combination of oils and tallows deeply soothed an area where I had dry skin. The consistency is very creamy, and my skin absorbed it quickly. I definitely think this was worth the cost.

First and foremost, I love the packaging from an aesthetic standppoint. I juat really love the simple look and cute logo. I personally dislike "busy" containers. Compared to farmers market prices especially, this is right on track and super reasonable, plus it feels good to support small businesses. This is a product I trust because of the natural ingredients and I love the multipurpose use! It's moisturizing and has a great texture. This is super gentle yet effective and something I've found so many uses for -baby skin, tough man hands, face care, split ends, cracked heels!

Wow. I don’t even know where to begin with this tallow. I’ve been using tallow for ages and this is not tallow. No no this is more than just tallow. Potentially hand crafted by God Himself, this miracle of a product does more than just make my skin soft. Cow Guys tallow not only softens my skin, but soothes my soul by providing me with with vitamins a, d, e, and k. Also no chemicals, preservatives, or synthetic additives, RFK’s new FDA won’t have any reason to go after this product. Fantastic product and a sustainable brand, way to go Cow Guys.

Found these guys at the Bryan farmer’s market and they were all super friendly and fun to talk to. I’ve had eczema on my face for a few years and this is the first product I’ve found that has helped relieve that dry, sensitive skin. Smells great and a little bit goes a long way. Also really appreciate how much care they put into making sure the ingredients are natural and sourced locally. As long as they make this stuff I’ll be buying from them!
